8th North Staffs at La Boisselle

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has the entry for the 8th Bn. North Staffordshire Regiment for after the attack, roughly the 3rd to the 10th of July.

The man i'm interested in is Pvt Alfred Neville 15226.

His service record states that he went missing during the few days the Staffs were there, strangely it then adds in February 1917 that he died of his wounds and was buried by the 34th Division. His grave has been lost and he is commemorated on the Theipval memorial. I'm trying to find roughly where he would have been killed or buried.

Thanks

Hull

A superb summary, thank you very much! He most definitely died during the first action the battalion saw at the Somme.

This most definitely helps direct where I will look next, thank you!
