Chris_Baker Posted 3 October , 2016 Share Posted 3 October , 2016 Can anyone tell me where the 2/5th DLI were stationed between their arrival at Salonika on 17 November 1916 and their transfer to 228th Infantry Brigade on 1 March 1917? I understand they were on garrison duty - but where, exactly? Your thank you gift, should you need it, is a copy of the 2/9th Battalion's war diary! apwright Posted 5 October , 2016 Share Posted 5 October , 2016 Lembet is now the center of the suburb of Efkarpia. Kilo 49 is roughly halfway between Likovan and Lahana (now Xiloupoli and Lachanas). There's a hill there beside the road with a memorial to Colonel Ioannis Papakyriazis of 4th Infantry Regiment, killed in action at the Battle of Kilkis-Lachanas on 21 June 1913. Kilo 71 is beside the CWGC's Struma Cemetery at the modern village of Kalokastro. Hope this helps a bit, too! Adrian
