MickLeeds Posted 14 September , 2016 Share Posted 14 September , 2016 Hello. For anybody researching Irish soldiers of the Great War The General Register Office of Ireland's historical civil registers of birth, marriage and death have been uploaded to the free state-run IrishGenealogy.ie. These records cover all the counties of Ireland up to partition and then to 1965 for records from the Republic of Ireland. Many of the records have an image of the full birth, death or marriage certificate and are free to view. These are the same images/certificates that normally cost about £4 a time from the GRO Northern Ireland website. So far the records containing an image of the certificate are: Births: 1864 to 1915 Marriages: 1882 to 1940 Deaths: 1891 to 1965 https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/civil-records/help/what-years-are-covered-by-the-historic-records-of-births-marriages-and-deaths Mick. kildaremark Posted 15 September , 2016 Share Posted 15 September , 2016 I've already had a few late nights going through these. Searches are working quite well although some of the transcriptions are not accurate, largely due to difficulty transcribing the writing.
