I know it was the Assembly Area for 9RB from where they started their attack on 15 Sep 1916. My great uncle, Captain Eric Parsons was OC 'A' Company in 9RB and I am visiting the place he was killed 100 years ago on Wednesday. I would also like to visit the place where he spent his last night, in York Trench, so I can see their approach route - I believe the trench is near Bernafay Wood near Montanan.
