mikecharles49 Posted 11 September , 2016 Share Posted 11 September , 2016 Could anyone please let me have a copy of a 1917 trench map for the Armagh Wood/Mount Sorrel area, east of Ypres just south of Sanctuary Wood and Observatory Ridge which should show artillery siege battery telephone lines to FOOs and Larch Wood signalling station. Shrewsbury Forest, Zwarteleen , Battle Wood etc will be shown too. The map should be under X Corps, 39th Division. In late September 1917, my grandfather's 295 Siege battery was at map sheet 28 ref I.30.a.7.4, and as a signaller was working on repair to telephone lines when KIA 26/9/1917. Many thanks. Mike. sotonmate Posted 30 December , 2016 Share Posted 30 December , 2016 This is likely what you need to look at, but it is at Kew and the sheets vary in size from large to very large: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C4463066
