MaureenE Posted 9 September , 2016 Share Posted 9 September , 2016 From 8 September 2016, the Irish General Register Office's historical birth, marriage and death registers are available online. Due to privacy restrictions, birth records from the past 100 years, marriage records from the past 75 years and death records from the past 50 years are not available. The Index records were previously available, but now the images of the records are also available on IrishGenealogy.ie operated by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. This is a free website. Cheers Maureen

Simon_Fielding Posted 10 September , 2016 Share Posted 10 September , 2016 Would these indexes have death entries for victims of accidents like the Connemara / Retriever sinkings in November 1916?

Yes, the casualties from these vessels are there but unfortunately there is no browse facility. There are 10 entries per page so it's reasonably easy to pick the names to search for to get them all.
