Gary Fisher Posted 9 September , 2016 Share Posted 9 September , 2016 I received today my Somme 100 Brass Centenary Poppy. It is a beautiful & poignant object which I will treasure. The poppy commemorates Private F G P Whitehead of the London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) who died on October 3rd 1916. According to the CWGC site he was 19 when he fell, not much different in age from my eldest son. I was wondering if anyone has access to any records or knowledge on his life before enlistment and perhaps even a photograph. Thanks in advance to anybody taking the time out to look into this.
