New CWGC Commemorations 09.09.16

CWGC added the following casualties to the WW1 War Dead Roll today.

 

All were members of the Mercantile Marine who died of various illnesses whilst prisoners of war in Germany. Their ships had all been interned, sunk or captured earlier in the war. They will be commemorated on the Cologne Memorial, Germany unless otherwise stated.

Hello Mel,

 

I had an idea whilst going through the overseas DCs on ancestry. If I could find someone already listed by CWGC as MM POW I would probably be able to find others who were not commemorated. Then cross reference with the MM POW lists on FMP for further proof. Still have a handful who have to be investigated.
