could someone please help me identify where a relative now in Cabaret Rouge was originally buried

I have the concentration return showing his body was found at 57c M17 d40.45

what does this mean? thanks in advance

It is the map reference.

 

If you look at this link, you will see square M.17, with Butte de Warlencourt written in the top half. 

Square 17 is divided into four segments by dotted lines. The "d" refers to the bottom right hand quarter and 40.45 is virtually in the centre of it.

oh bless you............I have walked to the top of the Butte never realising that someone belonging to me was killed there......good to have this information
