Would some kind afficionado who has read e.e.cummings: The Enormous File-A Social History of the Office, please assist.

 

        Casualty for Wanstead here in east of London-  SDGW says formerly ASC  E.H.Div.    Any offers from  more literate than me- which is most

I suspect a misprint and that it should read EA Div, which would mean an Army Service Corps unit in 54th (East Anglian) Division, a Territorial formation, This would make sense given from where your man comes from.
