Posted to the 1st Battalion 3/12/1914 ,appointed unpaid Lance Corporal 19/10/15, forfeited rank for absence 11/3/1916. He disclosed his real name in November 1914. There is a death certificate for his son, Lewis Brammer, who died 26/7/1915, aged 4. His MM card and the LG have him down as J. north staffs Posted 19 August , 2016 Author Share Posted 19 August , 2016 hi, IPT, all. I noticed on a spreadsheet titled "North Staffs casualties", his name and that he lived at 8 Bond st, Burslem, S.O.T. and he was the husband of W.E.Brammer. Also off that list my local lads who died in the Porthil/Wolstanton areas, and I passed their address'es in most cases not a lot different from when they went off to enlist/'and also to France/Belgium...makes you think, it brings the names alive ... regards, dave...
