Bombardier Baggaley MM

I would appreciate some help with finding No. 46927 Bombardier C.H. Baggaley, No.2 Section, 29th DAC, his name is recorded within the 29th Division War Record and Honours Book.  I suspect the printed name may be a spelling mistake, but the Regimental Number could just as easily have been recorded incorrectly.  What I do have to go on is that he was awarded the Military Medal on 12/6/18 for his earlier actions with No. 745034 Corporal E. Roberts, No.1 Section, 29th DAC, on March 18th at Wieltje when a shell struck the ammunition dump.  Roberts also received a MM.

I've been unable to find a suitable candidate within the Medal Index Cards or the Medal Rolls with variations of spelling and number.  My interest is simply whether he may have received the 14 Star or 14-15 Star and the recorded Theatre of War.  I'm hoping that someone will have sufficient information from the dates of the MM citation to help track him down.

My thanks in advance.

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

The London Gazette (page backwards from where the link opens to p7005) seems to have him as number 46827, and as G H Baggaley. The medal rolls don't indicate any Star entitlement, First names - George Henry.

Regards

Chris
