Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 2 August , 2016 Share Posted 2 August , 2016 Dear GWFs, I am seeking a similar Officer Group Photo to this one (thanks to Andrew Templer, via king-emporor.com) of 1/11 Gurkha Rifles - namely one showing the Officers of 3rd Battaliom, 11th Gurkha Rifles. circa 1919. Both units, soon to be disbanded, took part in Third Afghan. Lieut. (later Capt) George Edward Armitage Beazeley (1898-1970), descended from Count Vorontsov, Russian Minister to England 1784-1806, and nephew of Lt-Col G. A. Beazeley, DSO, RE (a pioneer of aerial photo-reconnaissance), was Quarter-Master under the Commandant of 3/11 Gurkhas at the time, A/Lt-Col J. D. Grant, VC, psc. Kindest regards, Kim. Steven Broomfield Posted 2 August , 2016 Share Posted 2 August , 2016 Kim - probably an obvious suggestion, but I take it you've tried the Gurkha Museum in Winchester.
Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 25 July , 2022 Author Share Posted 25 July , 2022 Dear Steven, I have just re-discovered this. The answer is No. Meanwhile I am searching for a Gurkha officer group photo including the elusive Lieut J. A. H. Maund, whose IGS Waz 1919-21 has 2-3rd Gurkhas (but i can only find him in the Jul 1919 IA List as having been a Coy Offr with 3-3rd QAO Gurkhas. Hmmm. Sorry not to have thanked you for kindly replying! Kindest regards, Kim.
