RHLV Posted 27 July , 2016 Share Posted 27 July , 2016 A friend of mine is a stamp collector. A few months ago he asked me for help on a German Feldpost card. I brought the problem here and got good results about the problem. So he's asked me to check with you again. This time he needs a location for Ballonzug 63 in June 1918 (I presume that's the date on the card; I haven't seen it). Anyone know or anyone know a place I can tell him to look? The Prussian Posted 28 July , 2016 Share Posted 28 July , 2016 Hello Rich! In spring 1918 he Ballonzug 63 was under command of Armee-Abt. D, then 17th army and later Armee-Abt. C. Unfortunately I don´t know, when exactly it was transfered to the different formations. Here are the battles of the mentioned formations in june 1918 Armee-Abt.A: Lorraine and the Vosges Armee-Abt.B: Upper-Alsace 17.Armee: (7.4.-20.8.1918): Battles between Arras and Albert Here is a photo of Ballonzug 86. Not really an example for "proper uniforms"...
