Ancre1917 Posted 26 July , 2016 Share Posted 26 July , 2016 Someone on a French GW site wants to know the whereabouts of No. 15 Field Ambulance on 24 October 1914. He's trying to trace the place of death of a French soldier he is researching. Richard
TEW Posted 26 July , 2016 Share Posted 26 July , 2016 Diary puts the HQ for 15FA on that date at Chateau de Gorre. They mention evacuating the old from the hospice in Festubert to accommodation in Beuvry. Otherwise the 'engagment continues' and wounded were being collected day & night, no specific location given. Ancre1917 Posted 26 July , 2016 Author Share Posted 26 July , 2016 Hello again TEW Just noticed that we both have someone in Queen's Cemetery, Bucquoy. In my case, it's my grand father AB WT Ellis Kia 4/2/1917 with the Hood battalion RND near Grandcourt. Richard
