Need help identifying Rank & Regiment

Hello again,

This forum has been very helpful to me thanks.

Now I'm coming back with yet another call for help.

Can anyone identify the rank and regiment of this man (taken in June 1917):

Tough to state his rank as you can't really see his epaulettes but it looks like there's only one item ("pip" or crown) making him either a 2/Lt. or a Major. He's badged up to a Gloucestershire Regiment territorial battalion.

His apparent age screams Lieutenant, but his pip looks very flat for a lieutenant's star. Could very well be a crown signifying a major.

More confusion and no answer.................(But, see above anyway for the regimental ID)
