I am trying to find some more information on the war service of Private Herbert Bertram Edgell. The Medal roll shows he was in The somerset Light infantry 34326 (His two medals are S L I},The North Somerset Yeomanry 2125 and The Royal Engineers 251822

He joined in Bath on the 15th May 1916, 2125  has been crossed out but the new number is mostly missing and RE is written on the top of the page.

His record is on Ancestry, but only front page of attestation form, and it appears to be a typed up copy of the original. His medal card gives the three service numbers.

HI

Have you clicked on the left and right buttons (arrows on each side of the page), there are heaps of pages for him on Ancestry?

Ignore their indexing and page count, you always have to look both ways just in case there are more pages.

regards

Robert

I have looked at the medal roll and his attestation form on Ancestry, but did not notice if there were side arrows.

Does his SLI Regimental number give any clue to which battalion he served in ?
