EvanEvansLancs Posted 17 November , 2019 Author Share Posted 17 November , 2019 (edited) OK - thank you Ken. That rules out one avenue. I've signed up to Forces War records for a month and found his name and service number matching 3 records. Two records show his name as ET Evans and the other one as TE Evans. The one for 1916 (ET Evans) shows an archive reference of DT17061916. Do you know if there is likely to be any further info on that archive record ? The one for TE Evans 7658 states a War Office Daily List No.5474 and archive reference NLS 1918_WList26, and says he was wounded, with a report date of 24/01/1918. So would that mean he was wounded (his last wound - with the 1st Lancs Fusiliers that is), exactly on that day or some time just before that day ?
