7th Leicesters 11083 Sgt George Curtis

Not so familiar with the Leicesters; wondering if anyone with better resources can add (picture?) or newspaper info on :-

 

Sergeant              George CURTIS 7th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment 11083 died on Friday 14th July 1916

·               Age 37

·               Husband of Matilda Curtis, of Ranters Bank, Far Forest, Buckeridge Rock, Kidderminster

Both Ancestry and Find my Past have papers for George. In case you don't have that information the basics are.

 

Attested 31st August 1914 at Burton on Trent.

Joined Depot 1st September 1914.

Posted to 7th Battalion 5th September 1914.

Appointed Acting Cpl., 21st September 1914.

Appointed Acting Sgt., 7th May 1915.

Confirmed in rank 27th September 1915.

Exp Force France 29th July 1915 - 14th July 1916.
