tonyarrowsmith Posted 9 July , 2016 Share Posted 9 July , 2016 (edited) I am trying to find information about the transfer of my Great Uncle - Sgt Allen Borman Phillips to the Worcestershire Regiment in late 1918. I know he was around Kemmel Hill, near Ypres, in September 1918 with his Brother in Law in the Herefordshire 1st Battalion as they sent a joint postcard home. He had been in the Herefordshire Regiment since Sept 1914. Regimental Service No: 2407 (Herefordshire Regiment - Issued 1914) Army Service No: 235752 (Herefordshire Regiment - issued 1917?) Army Service No: 72056 (Worcestershire Regiment - issued 1918/19???) We have a photo of him - looking very draw and ill - in a Worcestrshire Regiment Uniform and the background brick wall shows it was taken in Belgium. The pattern of the bricks shows this! I assume he was struck down with Infuenza or similar and when he recoverd the Herefordshires had moved on. As his medal roll shows he was transferred to the Worcestershire Regiment. I don't even know what Battalion he was in and the Worcestorshire Regiment people don't even recognise his new (Worcestershire Regiment) number he was given. Any info anyone can provide would be of interest. My info on is on Sgt AB Phillips page on my web site at: http://slasoft.co.uk/A.B.Phillips.htm Tony Arrowsmith Edited 16 August , 2016 by tonyarrowsmith update info
