rolt968 Posted 8 July , 2016 Share Posted 8 July , 2016 This is the review from the same production at the Citizens in Glasgow. https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2016/may/26/observe-the-sons-of-ulster-marching-towards-the-somme-review-citizens-glasgow I saw the play some years ago. It is a complex piece; multi-stranded in the themes which run through it and if I remember rightly the relationship of the scenes to each other. (I had wondered if someone would revive it this year. I wonder if anyone will produce the Silver Tassie some time during the centenary?} Roger M
seaJane Posted 8 July , 2016 Author Share Posted 8 July , 2016 Silver Tassie has I think been staged relatively recently, but don't ask me where!
rolt968 Posted 8 July , 2016 Share Posted 8 July , 2016 I had a quick search. The National Theatre produced it in 2014. I missed it!

djt Posted 28 September , 2016 Share Posted 28 September , 2016 I've seen it and the Guardian review is pretty spot on in my humble opinion. Worth a watch though if it's showing near you. Regards, Des
Martin Bennitt Posted 28 September , 2016 Share Posted 28 September , 2016 I saw it done by the Abbey Theatre in Paris some years back. Found it very emotional and stirring. The Telegraph seems to like the new production better than the Guardian. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/theatre/what-to-see/observe-the-sons-of-ulster-marching-towards-the-somme-review-a-d/ Cheers Martin B
