His name, number and regiment would be helpful.

Where has your original info come from?

If it has a casualty list number it may be one of those 'floating' sheets from FMP in the Casualty List thread.

jph, can you give a link to the post you've seen or even just a thread title and post number. His name/number may only be in an image so won't be searchable. Name, number battalion would help as well.

Thanks for your replys

His name was Private George John Ransom 15280 2nd Battalion Leinster Regiment  his casualty number list is 74923. I found the information on his wounds and where and his casualty list from the roll of honour site  on there data base I contacted them and they said the information had come from the great war forum site so this is my next port of call any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

I can see the entry on the roll of honour site which has been transcribed for them by a forum member. That's not to say that casualty list is available on the forum.

The list you mention has come from findmypast and possibly ended up in the Casualty List thread.

http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/89635-casualty-lists/

There are 23 pages of posts with images of casualty lists, 523 post in total!! The search function is not working for me today. It won't be easy to find the sheet amongst 23 pages.

Findmypast is available for free in libraries just search the military section with his name and number.

If the search function is working try putting in his name and it might show the thread where they got their info

I just tried searching forum using google instead and it comes up with 3 hits but not for Ransom in Casualty Lists. List number 74923 maybe in the 23 pages but I have a feeling some lists were emailed or PMd to the forum member and won't be there.

FMP may be quicker.

Hi Jon-Paul. Here is the list you are looking for but it isn't terribly clear unfortunately. [It was my list on the Roll of Honour site ]

His name is 4th from the top
