Bantam Battalions..

Very interested in the Bantam Battalions. How many were there. When they first formed? Any information really. Thank you

My interest is the 40th Division, in particular the 14th Argylls who were sent by the War Office to bolster the Division before they went overseas.  Allinson notes they, a 'normal' sized Bn, regarded their shorter comrades with respect and affection.
