Eager to discover his service record in Gallipoli and France - David Akenhead, grandson

 

Cape Helles landings, Krithia Vineyard with Lieutenant Forshaw VC, previously stationed at Suez - abandoned Gallipoli early 1916 - returned to Suez, then what? 

 

Entered the war as 2nd Lieutenant, demobilised December 1918 Charleroi area  as Captain

It doesn't look as if he has a surviving service record at the National Archives which is a shame. You might discover most from the war diaries kept by the 1st and 5th battalions of his regiment.
