andy2014 Posted 1 July , 2016 Share Posted 1 July , 2016 Good day all, hope you all well I was wondering.. I have a relative killed in Gallipoli aged 20 in July 1915, i believe no medals or recognition was awarded for the Gallipoli campaign? were they entitled or received any medals at all? He was a RMLI with the Portsmouth Battalion. With Thanks. Andy

woollamc Posted 1 July , 2016 Share Posted 1 July , 2016 Andy Your relative should have been entitled to a 1914-15 Star, a British War Medal and the Victory Medal. In contrast to the Second World War, there were no campaign medals issued in the Great War for particular theatres of war. If you check on Ancestry, you may find a Medal Index Card and some Medal Roll entries confirming your relative's entitlement. C
