RuthDudley Posted 1 July , 2016 Share Posted 1 July , 2016 Just wondered if anyone can help. My grandfather, Herbert Dodd, was conscripted and was gassed during the war. I have always been trying to find out where this might have happened. He survived and married my grandmother in 1919. His medal record shows the following: served with the Northumberland Fusilliers, no 36495, then West Riding, 34692. I wonder which regiment he was with when he was injured, or was he moved to the West Riding in order to be sent home? Any help would be appreciated. johnnie Posted 1 July , 2016 Share Posted 1 July , 2016 There is an odd page from a casualty list on Find My Past which states he was 6th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, and that he was "discharges to base depot, Etaples, ex 14 Con" and then the document ends. I do wonder in 14 Con might be convalescence. Unfortunately this document is not complete, and is not dated. Johnnie
