Waynes boss handed him a Victory Medal named to 15942 Pte H C Exton earlier today. He doesn't know anything about it, the man isn't a relative as far as he knows. Not on CWCG. Can anyone shed any light please?

Many thanks in anticipation

The only likely person on a 1911 census was Herbert Clarence Exton, aged 13 living at 131 Winchester Road, Brislington, Bristol.

Son of Ernest Henry & Sarah Ann Gorwill Exton.

15942 Herbert C Exton was in the Army Cyclist Corps then transferred to the Lincolnshire Yeomanry with the new service number 56603. I believe he won a gallantry award but it is on ancestry.com which I don’t subscribe
