Looking at some Gazette entries and quite a few men have O.N.  bewfore a service number.

I have it on fairly good authority (Twitter!) that it stands for Official Number. But I can't corroborate that.

From the Navy's personnel directorate:

RNR ratings were assigned a new official numbers  on each occasion they entered into a new term of enrolment in the RNR. Seamen ratings in their 1st to 4th terms of enrolment used the suffix letters 'A' through to 'D' as part of their official number.Periods of enrolment were for 5 years and the man's record was held on separate cards, a new card would be made out for each new period of enrolment.

Letters given are for Royal Naval Reserve (trawler section)

DA is 'Deckhand'

ES is 'Engineman'

First man on your list Alexander Allen appears to have been promoted to second hand or mate.
