RobertBr Posted 15 March , 2019 Share Posted 15 March , 2019 He was known as 'Nelson' from a very early age. Everyone including his wife called him Nelson. Even my mother did not know why but thought it was something to do with Admiral Nelson. Its even included on his gravestone. Please include it. Ken Wayman Posted 3 April , 2019 Author Share Posted 3 April , 2019 Thanks Bob - that's fascinating. 'Nelson' would have been appropriate in the conditions pertaining at Third Ypres!!! I'll certainly include it. Regards Ken PS: Thank you for the heads-up in respect of your excellent timelines. I hope you don't mind but I have downloaded them to fill the gaps in the war diaries.
