Hedley Malloch Posted 15 May , 2003 Share Posted 15 May , 2003 Came across the Woolwich Polytechnic Memorial whilst looking for something else altogether; it's one of a growing number of war memorials on the net. It is absolutely superb with very detailed information about students and staff lost. Included are their attendance records, scholastic achievements (or lack of them in some cases), personal and family information, extracts from letters, how they met their deaths and places of burial. Like many of these institutional war memorials on the net it's clearly been a labour of love for whoever did it. For example many of the CWGC cemeteries seem to have been visited personally. Woolwich poly is now part of Greenwich University.
