Guest KLIFF SNOW Posted 15 May , 2003 Share Posted 15 May , 2003 Hello, My Great Grandfather was George Jennings 37987 who was in the 128th Battery 30th Brigade, RFA. He was killed in action on 4/4/1916, and is buried in Berles Au Bois cemetery in France. I would like to try and find the PRO reference of his brigade to try and find out more about his death, and the PRO ref for this particular date of April 1916, and also when he first left for France, which according to his medal roll was the 19th August 1914. Would also anyone have an idea would it be normal for a Volunteer who joined the Army when War was declared to have left 2 weeks later, or would it suggest as I hope, George could have been a reservist or a territorial, with some sort of military training to enable him to go so quickly. Many Thanks Klifton Snow
