If anyone turns up a photo of Major Ovans would be very grateful

Served Northumberland Fusiliers, Born March 12 1881, Married in 1907 in Calcutta to Marjorie Cecil, eldest daughter of Sir Cecil Michael Wilford Brett CSI.

Major Ovans was educated at Marlborough College and Keble Collage, Oxford (1899).

Joined the Northumberland Fusiliers in 1901 and attended the 1911 Durbar in India.

Served in France with the 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, wounded twice in 1914 and Mentioned in Despatches

Seconded to the Ministry of Labour to head the “Release from Colours Branch” CBE (Civil)

Director of Military Prisons and Detention Barracks in India 1929-33, retired from the Army 1931, Died 1946
