MickLeeds Posted 14 May , 2016 Share Posted 14 May , 2016 Hello. A new collection released to the UCD Digital Library. The Dublin Metropolitan Police (DMP) Prisoner Books. "The Dublin Metropolitan Police (DMP) Prisoners Books for 1905-1908 and 1911-1918 are amongst the most valuable new documents to come to light on the revolutionary decade. They include important information on social and political life in the capital during the last years of the Union, from the period of widespread anticipation of Home Rule, to the advent of the 1913 Lockout, the outbreak of the First World War, the Easter Rising and its aftermath, including the conscription crisis of 1918. They will also be invaluable to those interested in criminology, genealogy, and family history." A quick scan reveals that many of the records are of soldiers arrested for various offences in Dublin ranging from AWOL to bigamy. The books can be downloaded in a pdf file. 1 book appears to be missing. Prisoners book 1 : 1905-07 (105 Mb) Prisoners book 3 : 1911-13 (123 Mb) Prisoners book 4 : 1913-15 (108 Mb) Prisoners book 5 : 1916-18 (109 Mb) http://digital.ucd.ie/view/ucdlib:43945 Mick.
