Does anyone have a map showing the German positions on Mont St Quentin around the time of the Australian attack in 1918?

Cheers,

Mat

This is a start, though it is not an extremely well detailed map. It provides only general information. It is form the Australian War Memorial website. I am certain that if you contact them they will be able to provide you with information on where to obtain a more detailed map.

http://www.awm.gov.au/1918/battle_map/index.htm

Also, there is an overview of the process of battle at the same site: http://www.awm.gov.au/1918/battles/mtstquentin.htm

Hope this is helpful!

Mat, there is a very good map of Mont St Quentin layout, and the details of the Aus attack on it, in the maps with "The Story of the Fourth Army in the Battles of the Hundred Days". Map 6 is the Capture of Mont St Quentin, Aug 31st- September 1st" Soory but the map is too large to scan!

The text also goes into some details of the attack. Hope this is of help, and you can find access to a copy, Peter.

Hi all,

Thought I'd raise this thread again - looking for some specific possies on the Mont St Quentin battlefield and am struggling to find a detailed trench map.

If anyone has one they could post I'd be most appreciative.

Cheers,

Mat

Nothing for 1918, but this is December 1916. Any good to you?

(If you want to see a wider view of this map click HERE. It's on this page (somewhere!!!) )

Dave.

Image now removed - can still be seen on the above mentioned page.
