Guest Posted 3 May , 2016 Share Posted 3 May , 2016 The LG announcement of 5th May correcting the April announcements by stating they should all have been under "Machine Gun Corps, Heavy Section" may simply be reflecting the 1st May decision. Either way it is probably worth digging up the Adjt and QM's files at TNA to see what the unit was described as on 24th March when they took up their appointments. Says general consensus favours naming unit the Tank Corps. “I do not care for the name very much myself, but must confess I have not thought of anything better.” TNA.WO158/836 Whigham agreed: ’I can think of nothing better than ‘Tank Corps’.
