4thGordons Posted 27 April , 2016 Share Posted 27 April , 2016 Well that looks to be the butt of an M1 Carbine (at a guess) so well outside the 1914-18 timeframe of this board, but it looks to me to be a stylized stenciling of a Japanese or perhaps Korean inscription.
