1st Life Guards

Hello,

Trooper George Hills, 3388 joined the 1st Life Guards in mid-October 1914 in Exeter. By this time the 1st Guards had just left for Belgium and were billeted close to Ypres. The 2nd Life Guards also left for the Western Front around the same time. I am trying to find out where and with whom Trooper Hills would have been trained since it appears that all the Life Guards were overseas and there was no 2/1st to train with. Grateful if there are any Guards experts who could help.

Many thanks and regards,

tjp

He would have trained at Hyde Park with the 1st Life Guards Reserve Regiment or Windsor with the 2nd Life Guards Reserve Regiment.
