Remembered Today:

2nd Battalion East Lancs

Slightly off topic this one, but I have been looking at an ex Great War veteran who was demobbed from the Worcester Regiment in Feb 1919.

He joined up again, with the East Lancs Reg't in September 1919, and was soon posted to the 2nd Battalion.

There are suggestions that during late 1919 and/or 1920 they may have been based in Ireland (Killarney or Tralee) - can any East Lancs experts tell me where they actually were in 1920 please?

All I can find is that the 2nd Battalion served in Ireland from 1919 to 1923. No specific bases mentioned.

Thanks for that sotonmate, that is sufficient for what I wanted.

His service papers mention two misdemeanours at Killarney and Tralee in 1920, but they don't give a date for the Battalion getting posted there. Perhaps because it was classed as home service?
