I can't find him in ADM 159 either. May be worth getting in touch with the Fleet Air Arm Museum librarian to see if his attestation papers are held there?

I checked on his number too in case there was a typo in the name. Baffled!

There are several register numbers around Chatham/16500 missing from ADM 159. However, the Fleet Air Arm Museum has his Attestation Pack: enlisted 29 Sep 1910, born Old Brompton 1 Sep 1896. Enlisted as a bugler boy just after his 14th birthday.
