From the diary of RAMC medical officer:

March.15. Rode in to the baths at Pas. They are

in a condensed milk factory owned by a Bosh

[?]. Men bathe 12 at a time in great

metal vats. Officers have wooden barrels.

Rode home via Gaudiempre.

I agree - "firm".

The writer appears to have great difficulty in placing the dots on his 'i's in the right spot.

They're invariably one or two characters late!

And his 'r's and 'm's have concaves upwards rather than downwards. They look more like 'w's than 'm's.
