I believe the Cottrell's have been on for a while.

One was golf pro in Cumbria pre war. The golf club have one of his medals.

For the attention of "headgardener" who posted to this topic some time back.....

I noticed a post you made on the subject of brothers killed at Gallipoli.

I'm a relative of Arthur and Fred Roper - both killed 6Aug15 at Gallipoli.

Your post indicated you have their wooden kit boxes - I'd be really keen to get photos of those. I assume they were empty of belongings.

I'd also be interested in whom in the family you got these from as I'm doing some research into the family with a descendent of one of

their sisters.

No. 555 Pte. Joseph Horrocks, 11th Bn, AIF. Died of wounds 20/05/15.

No. 298 Pte. Edwin James Horrocks, 28th Bn, AIF. Died of wounds 18/09/15, Sons of James and Margaret Horrocks. Both brothers are listed on the Lone Pine Memorial.

The above info and photo were taken from The Scottish War memorials web site

The memorial here in my small village lists the names of 16 men which includes 3 sets of two brothers. So so sad.

Many thanks, I was aware of Horrocks and Harpers, but not Jamieson,

I have the Harpers as having a third brother, is this correct?

Hi, the Bullard brothers were my great uncles, there was also a half bother who died with them and James the eldest brother died from with wounds after the war.
