What markings does the rifle have on the butt socket, such as maker and date, please?

Chris:  The barrel appears to be a CLLE barrel cut down with a Pattern 14 front sight on it.

I've not pulled it down to mic the barrel around the sight and compare it to the CLLE.

I just keep running out of time during the day.  :D

The rifle is an interesting oddity and when I saw it in Riga I tried to get some info but a language problem did not help.

I did have a number of pictures through the glass display case and then corresponded with the curator once I got home, but again little help.

Herbie at the Pattern Room was aware of them and was quite a help with some info.

I still have a reasonable supply of some Ross parts should you need any.

cheers,

Warren

The rifle is not a Bannermans as I have one of those as well.

There are pictures of Ukrainian partisans carrying them during WW II.

I can try and post those if you like.

I cannot recall any markings on the butt but will check when I can manage the stairs and get to it.

cheers,

I believe you,  it's just that I had never heard of them before this post. I think someday bannerman guns will have a collector category of their own.

Hello,

I might a bit late to the discussion but these look to me like Pattern 1914’s, however there is a popular opinion that the Ross rifles were also issued in good numbers.
