redbarchetta Posted 1 February , 2016 Share Posted 1 February , 2016 Another quick question: Volunteering on 5th August, so before things were organised 'properly', Frank presumably just had an Attestation Form filled in as he didn't have his medical until 11th Aug. Would he have physically been given anything when he walked out of the barracks that day, like a copy of the Attestation Form, or some certificate to prove he had enlisted, or started the process? I've looked through Pete Simkin's book, and even Richard Holmes' Tommy, but can't find anything that specific... sorry... James
Khaki Posted 1 February , 2016 Share Posted 1 February , 2016 A shilling? they probably needed the paperwork more than he did, as long as they knew who he was and where to find him. khaki
redbarchetta Posted 1 February , 2016 Author Share Posted 1 February , 2016 No - that comes after the Medical, when he is formally enlisted! J
