emmo7474 Posted 8 January , 2016 Share Posted 8 January , 2016 Hi I'm looking for some help in identifying the Cap badge on the postcard. I'm afraid the postcard is a little out of focus which makes identifying the Regiment more challenging. I think it could be the 11th Cardiff Pals Battalion Welsh Regiment. Any help would be much appreciated Regards Simon
max7474 Posted 8 January , 2016 Share Posted 8 January , 2016 The Cardiff pals badge was a collar. Not to say no one ever put it on hat but I suspect your man is Canadian

Blackblue Posted 8 January , 2016 Share Posted 8 January , 2016 I think it's British. Looks a little like King Edward's Horse or Border Regiment but I don't think one of those. Anything more on origin the photo? Rgds Tim D
max7474 Posted 8 January , 2016 Share Posted 8 January , 2016 Too small for KEH which was more rectangular and wrong shape for Border regt which had a voided centre
Blackblue Posted 8 January , 2016 Share Posted 8 January , 2016 Yes. Agreed, but I still think its Brit.
Jerry B Posted 8 January , 2016 Share Posted 8 January , 2016 The Cardiff Pals did not wear the badge that many attribute to them, it was worn as a collar by the 16th service bn of the Welsh regiment, the cardiff city Bn or Cardiff boys, not the pals who were the 11th Bn.
