Remembering those lost in the sinkings of SS 'Citta Di Palermo' and HM Drifters 'Freunchy' and 'Morning Star' off Brindisi harbour, Italy, on the morning of 8th January 1916. They included Corporal Herbert Hartley, 605th MT Company ARmy Service Corps, a former pupil of Bury Grammar School, Lancashire.

The majority, like Herbert Hartley are commemorated on the Hollybrook Memorial but the bodies of four, including today's 'Remembered' serviceman, Private Thomas Stead, also of 605th MT Company, are buried in Bari Cemetery.
