Mark Hone Posted 30 December , 2015 Share Posted 30 December , 2015 As part of the 'Somme 141' initiative, the Royal British Legion will be holding a daily act of commemoration at the Thiepval Memorial from July to November 2016. Apologies if this has been posted before; I couldn't see an earlier mention: http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/remembrance/ww1-centenary/somme-141/
Roger34 Posted 28 September , 2016 Share Posted 28 September , 2016 I am planning to take a group to this in October, do you know how long the ceremony takes? Roger
John S Posted 28 September , 2016 Share Posted 28 September , 2016 Depends on how many are taking part. When I was there recently it took about 30 minutes or so, if there is a band and lots of wreaths and commemorations it could take a lot longer obviously. It is a nice ceremony though, particularly if you have a relative being commemorated. Regards John
