historyphil Posted 18 December , 2015 Share Posted 18 December , 2015 Hello each, Could anyone point me in the direction of where the Infantry Training Schools were originally located in Ireland in 1915 and after the 1916 training schedule reforms of early 1916. thanks Philip
Michael Pegum Posted 29 December , 2015 Share Posted 29 December , 2015 I think you will need to look at the regimental histories of the Irish regiments - the number is not great. Each had a well-defined pre-war recruiting area, and a headquarters in a central town or city. The actual training areas, as opposed to barracks, will be in the histories. I will look at my copy of the history of the Connaught Rangers, and come back with the information for that regiment. Others who have histories might do the same.
