I have contacted Liverpool Museum to no avail regarding :-

S.S JONES Pte, 19603 King's Liverpool Regt

The database has his first name as STUART S with first two digits transposed,

JONES SS STUART PRIVATE

091603

his medal card downloaded on Ancestry has it recorded as STEWART S and 19603

To build a profile on this chap I need to know which is correct please ?

Many Thanks

The MIC is the army record - it is correct in the vast majority of cases (allowing for some clerical errors). I would also add that very few infantry regimental numbers start with a '0',

I would go with the MIC number but if someone can check the Silver War Badge or Medal Roll it should confirm the details.

Hi

Just to confuse matters the SWB has

91603 Stewart Samuel Jones

enlisted 28/8/16

discharged 20/9/18

Medal Roll has

91603 13th KLR

Regards,

Graeme

He's Stewart Samual Jones from Barry, Cardiff. Je was a drapers son and ran the family business after the war. Hes a relative of mine. Im trying to find more on him as well. He's Welsh so makes sense he started a rugby club. Is he your man if so i would like to know.

Mark, the guy I was searching for was Capt Stephen Sydney Jones of the Middlesex Regt, a Liverpool schoolteacher  http://home.btconnect.com/seftonrufc/JonesSS.html
