Guest azza Posted 18 November , 2004 Share Posted 18 November , 2004 Yet another family tree researcher. My great grandfather was in the above company and killed on 8th July 1915 during a lull in fighting and is remembered at the Ypres Menin Gate memorial. My father says that his father (my grandfather) always said "don't volunteer for anything". This was supposedly based on the fact that his own father volunteered to make the tea whilst in the trenches and was killed by a sniper whilst doing so. Any info regards "A" Coy 2nd bn or the lancashire Fusiliers would be of interest and much appreciated. Thanks
