MaureenE Posted 9 September , 2015 Share Posted 9 September , 2015 The Royal Army Service Corps: A History of Transport and Supply in the British Army, Volume II by Colonel R H Beadon 1931. Link to an Adobe pdf download. Digital Library of India. Includes the First World War period, with chapters on the British Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, the Balkans, Egypt and Palestine, Mesopotamia, East Africa, Italy, North Russia, England and India. The catalogue details on the Digital Library of India may not indicate what this book is, but I have downloaded it, so can confirm the title. Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 9 September , 2015 Share Posted 9 September , 2015 On first scanning, a great find for free. Fills in lots of gaps, and answers lots of difficult questions, including 2 that have been asked here within the last week eg: 1) Petrol companies, supply etc. & 2) Supply Companies. As Maureene says, the book is Volume 2 (of 2) despite being indexed as Vol 1. Covers 1901-1920s, Presumably Vol 1 covers 1760s to the Boer War. The site is a bit slow, and the indexing quite problematic, Vol 1 doesn't seem to be available (paperback on Amazon now for £38 New, £28 used for both volumes!) Waggoner Posted 9 September , 2015 Share Posted 9 September , 2015 There were only two volumes. PRt I was written by Fortescue and took the history up to the South African War period. All the best, Gary
